I am going to an auction tomorrow and there is a M-H 30 for sale.It has new rubber and narrow front end. I don't have any more info than that. Is there any particular problems with the M-H 30 that I should look for? Did they have live hyd/PTO? What is the horse power rating? Thanks for all or any help I can get. Les.

If it has factory hydraulic it will be live because M-H drove the pump off the engine. You can see the pump on it if it has hydraulics, not all of them were equipped with the hydraulic system. It will not have an independent or continouis PTO as this option wasn't avaiable on that model. They were 26 drawbar HP and 34 belt Hp as tested at Neb. Introduced 1947 and made thru 1952 and maybe into 1953, a good two bittom tractor. David B

Well the great thing about the MH's is that you can pull out the engine/clutch assembly without splitting the tractor. Up here a weakness on those Continental 4 cylinder flatheads was water freezing in the block (same as any tractor) but they were very weak in the top part of the left side water jacket ... they always broke out there (easily) first frost it seems. Don't know where you are but if it freezes there check out that area. If you buy it I have an original owners/operators manual for the 30 and the 30K (low grade fuel) that I could copy off and mail to you at cost.
