Massey-ferguson 165 power steering

I have a MF165 4cyl dsl perkins .... The teactor does not have power steering ... Can I ad it ? If so what is the availability and cost of parts? Did the tractor come without power steering or were they all made with it and mine has just been removed?

I also have a 165 diesel, but mine has pwr steering. It wasn't working, but I fixed it this past week. I can send you some pictures of the pwr steering unit if it will help you. I don't know how different it may be if it was a factory option, but it is basically a single cylinder to assist the manual steering, the initial manual turn (off center) activates the cylinder to halp continue the turn. There is a dedicated pump just below, back of the oil fill tube. Makes a WORLD of difference. Best part is the repair only cost me $5, the return line was leaking, so I placed a piece of hose over the leak and clamped both sides.

most massey's never had power sterring as it was an obtional extra but it is easy to fit i don't know the U.S.A price but its bout 150euro hear in ireland
