My 1965 MF 150 (gas Continental engine) will not lock the two drive wheels together when I press down on the pedal on the left side of the housing. It hasn't worked since the day I got it 20 years ago. Is there an adjustment or repair for this without taking everything apart?

Are you sure the pedal isn't on the RIGHT side of the tranny? Never seen one on the left.

I would recommend taking it seriously. When I bought my MF35 the differrential lock didn't work. Ended up splitting it to see what was up. The teeth from the locking gear had all sheared off and were grinding their way through the wheel bearing.

Don't know if the 150 is the same setup as the 35, though.

One other thing comes to mind - Have you made sure the pedal hasn't come loose from the shaft? If the pedal is moving but the shaft isn't turning, that would be an easy fix.

Hey Boss Hog, I have a 150 and 165 and both diff locks are frozen. If I stand on the lock it will engage and then I have to use a pry bar to disengage. I had one jacked up for 3 days and soaked it with PB Blaster and it is still way too tight. Is there an easy fix?
