I was rebuilding the carb on my 88 (first time rebuilding a carb)and managed to put the wrong jet in the wrong hole. It fell wayyyy down in there, did not think I was going to be able to get it out. I pulled a piece of wire from my wire brush and and pushed it up the tiny, tiny hole from the bottom. Luckly it was enough to get my jet back! I thought my carb was going to be junk. Hopefuly the finished product will be worth the effort.

That's a bad feeling when something like that happens. Another bad (worse) feeling is when you are trying to remove some carb brass (jets, nozzle, seat, etc) and it twists off. That's a REAL bad feeling. Good luck with your project.

Yesterday was lucky. I was installing a drawbar support bracket on my MF 245. I stuck a screwdriver into the casting to clean the threads a little before running a 3/4" tap to clean the threads good. the driver went up 1 1/2" in the front holes but only 1/2" in the rear. Figuring the old bolts were broken off in there, I got the drill out and got ready for some real fun.

Turned our there was a 1/4" of real hard dirt in there and the drill, went right through it. I felt real good about myself.
