Hello everyone. This is a great forum for anyone looking to find information on MF's.

This is a bit of a retread question, but I'll ask it anyway. I have a small horse farm and need to buy a tractor. I've been putting it off while my old house was on the market, but it just sold today. (Yeah!!!). Ironically, today a MF 165 showed up in the want ads of the local newspaper.

"165 MF DSL, 6spd, lock dif, 4 new tires, canopy, $5800"

Can any of the more experienced folks give me a few tips on checking this tractor out? What to ask the person selling? Particular things to look at?

Thanks a lot in advance.

the price is a bit high, is it being offered with anything? mower etc... for that price i would expect low hours, good rubber, & a mower at the least. if it came with a loader, that would be an ok price.

Hi,Try big Dean's web page. Link The price is on the high side but if is in good shape it is worth it. New tires all around is worth about 1000 to 1100. The tractor prices very depending where you live. The price near part time farmers is on the high side. I live in MD and prices are high. Bill
