Went to an auction in central NC today. A MF35 gas with good tin, 60% tires, 4200+ hours on non-working proofmeter went for $4000. Tractor did not have power steering and the lift would jerk a little bit on the way up. I thought it was a little high, maybe not? Are the hydraulic lifts on these tractors expensive and/or difficult to rebuild?

Most of the time the jerky lift can be fixed by a simple washing out of the hyd. pump ...sediment and trash in the pump is usually the culprit. Or a faulty side chamber vavle. The price on the tractor was a little on the high side, here in the south usually 2 to 3 grand will buy a nice 35,I Have seen them go for over 5000.I repair most lift problems for under 500 but they can be tuff to work on... usual jerky lifts can be fixed for under 100 bucks and two hours labor.
