The Multipower is a second two speed that can be shift either up or down while the tractor is moving even under a load. It gives you two gears in every gear in the main transmission this makes 12 forward gears & 4 reverse gears. it is really handy when you need to slow down or when the tractor starts to pull down you just slip it in low & keep going. They have no engine braking when in low & will run off going down hill when in low range. you need to keep it in high as mush as you can. When they are in high they will sometimes cause the mail shift lever to be very hard to get out of gear if you run in to that just shift it in to low & the main shift lever will come right out of gear. They are hydraulically shifted into high if for any reason the pressure does not close the clutches in the clutch pack they will stay in low. They will also go into low when you shut off the engine & if you are parked on a hill the tractor will run off. They can get very expensive to repair.

It is very useful when baling, if you are in low multi - power and you hit a light spot you can flick into high if you think the baler will take it OK. On the other hand, if you are in high multi power and you hit a thicker part of the swath, you can flick into low to make it easier for the baler . One other thing.... you cannot tow-start a Multi-Power tractor.
