To my son in law's credit he has got his Dad's old 33 rebuilt and running and off hand it sounds real good. We have conflicting information on tappet clearance(.005-.0014) ????.....we set them at .005 but I can hear clicking as it runs and I think they are still too loose...other than that this Massey barks! He has done a lot of work on it and he will have a real nice tractor when he gets the fine tuning done....now if it was a Farmall...aw..I don't want to start anything..red tractors are all good...Mike in Exeter Ontario

Hey it's hockey season ... no setting tappets till it's over Mike. Meanwhile, how are the Hawks doing? Meanwhile, a reference I've got here says 0.014" hot for both intake and exhaust.

The Hawks lost the Ontario semi finals in the seventh game in overtime 5-4. The team that beat us (Thameford) went on to win the title in 4 straight over Wellsley Applejacks...a bitter pill for us all to swallow, we had led the series 3-1...what could have been. Thanks for the tech advise we were told .014 but had also been advised that .005 would work..obviously it isn't right, other than that Patrick has his tractor running well..one sleeve and piston, new rings, plugs wire, cap and rotor...a nice little 33 and I'm sure when he gets it painted up it will be spectacular...take care for now..will e-mail you one of these days..Mike
