I'm looking for any info you guys can give me on a Massy I found. The number, as near as I can tell, is 44D SF 59475 F. I was wondering what something like this would be worth. It's in kinda rough shape. It had a loader on it and the frame rails are broken back by the tranny, it looks repairable though. I'm not sure if it runs or not but is this a collectible tractor. I don't know as much as I should about these Massey's

You've found a Massey Harris diesel model 44 with a wide front. D is for diesel and S is for standard (wide, non-adjustable front wheels). I'm not sure about the F part of the serial number but it has some meaning. The numbered part of your serial indicates that your tractor is a 1955 model (serial numbers started at 58067 that year) so yours was probably one of the last ones produced. In 1956 they started the triple series 444's I believe. I hope that the loader frame is cracked and not the tub of the tractor, that would be bad.

My records indicate it is a 44 SPECIAL. The F stands for "foot clutch"
