Oil pressure gauge flutters?????

The oil pressure gauge on my 44-4 flutters a lot at about 15 lb. Last year it always held a steady 20lb. with no flutter of the gauge. Only think that has been done this year is an oil change. Any ideas? Don't want to hurt the tractor.

I would go down to your local parts store and get an oil guage and whatever fittings you need to adapt it and check your pressure before anyting else if you have a tool rental they may be able to give you an actual tester I made my tester for about 12 bucks I think. If that guage flutters your releif valve in your oil pump may be haywire or your pickup screen maybe covered with some sludge if not check your electric connections clean them up and if it still does it replace your sending unit. the oil pump in my MF 65 releives at 40 pounds I am not sure about yours your book will tell you
