I HAVE FOUND A CONTINENTAL STATIONARY ENGINE. IT HAS THE NUMBERS F227-605M CAST INTO THE BLOCK, F218E-500 CAST INTO THE MANIFOLD,AND F601A-365 IS STAMPED INTO THE HEAD. WHAT CU. IN. IS THIS ENGINE. WILL IT DROP INTO A MASSEY 101 SENIOR. IS IT WORTH $75 LOCKED UP? IT IS COMPLETE. IT ALSO HAS A BELT DRIVEN GOVERNOR IF THAT HELPS IDENTIFY IT.

You most likely have a 227 cu. in. engine. To be sure, try and find a plate on the motor, possibly on the left side. The first numbers after the F should be the cubic inches of the engine, if they tag the industral engines the same as the tractors. If the motor is locked up from lack of oil or from rust is a big difference. If from lack of oil, it may just be a good boat anchor. The 101 SR had a continental 6 cyl. 226 cu. in. Some will interchange but I would check with someone up on that.
