My dual clutch was grinding a bit getting the PTO engaged, so I made the adjustment recommended on this board and set the fingers at 55 to 65. They had been at 86. Now the PTO won't engage at all. I reset the fingers back to 86 and then to 90 and it STILL won't engage. Is my clutch dead? What should I try next?

Dave it sounds to me like your pto disc lining is coming apart I have seen these same symptoms a few times before & that was the problem ever time.

I had similar problems with my FE35 plus problems shifting into gear and tractor not stopping when clutch pushed in (very dangerous)

I adjusted the main clutch and pto clutch several times without much improvement. Had it serviced by local MF dealer also with little improvement.

Finally, with advise from Big Dean and Jack in NB split the tractor. Found all the internal linkages in clutch were worn out. Bought a new clutch assembly from Bareco (all pre adjusted) and fitted it. Completely solved the problem. The cost was about AUS$400. (Bareco have a US branch and can supply almost any MF part)

Following the advise of Big Dean and Jack, the job was easy - well within the capacity of any shade tree mechanic

Jack has posted detailed instructions for splitting MF tractors (and putting them back together!) in an article in the Research & Info pages on the left side of this website. You need to be especially careful about final line up of clutch splines and bolting tractor together. You also need a clutch aligning tool, Big Dean has dimensions for it on his website.
