Before I pollute this board with my question concerning a circa 1990 MF 240 diesel, I should ask if this is the proper forum for questions concerning "new" tractors -- or is there another MF board somewhere that would be more appropriate?? Thanks.

when the temperature switch is connected the engine overheats and then it goes off. this applies also on the oil pressure swith. whenever the two switches are connected the engine just goes off after over heating.

I think you are in the right place. The newer models are not much different to the older ones. A good design lasts. Does your tractor kave a Perkins deisel? These never used to have temperature problems although I know of one used in a new Manatobo forklift that loves to boil for no reason.

Smokey, Thanks for the input. Yes, it is a 3 cylinder Perkins. I've posted the entire question above under to subject: "MF 240 Temperature Concern - The Story"
Please let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions.
Thanks, Johnny
