My MF135, with the Perkins diesel engine, has a little bit of oil coming out of the top of the exhaust where the pipe goes into the manifold. The hour meter reads 2295, I purchased the tractor last winter and didn't notice this till now. Bad rings? Valves? I notice the owners manual calls for the valve tappets to be adjusted on a periodic basis, I doubt mine ever was. This is my first diesel, am I looking at an engine rebuild? It really doesn't seem to smoke a lot, sometimes never. Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions much appreciated.

this happens some times to a tractor that has set for some time or has not be run up to temp I will use the tractor hard for a while and most the time it stops make sure you have good oil pressure and no water in crankcase if you dont then use it Jerry

Might have been idling for too long, give it some work to get the exhaust hot.If it doesn't smoke too much ,starts ok and has ok oil pressure then don't worry

Is the oil level in the crankcse rising? If so it could be diesel getting into the oil due to a faulty fuel lift pump or front seal on injector bad.
