By process of elimination, believe cause of rising oil level to be input shaft seal of CAV Injection Pump on MF165 Diesel--just as you suggested this might be the problem. You mentioned you have replaced this seal before. I have the pump setting on the bench and do not see the seal. There is the hub that the three bolts that pass thru the drive gear thread into at the input end of the pump. This hub has an internal splined center and a cheese-head bolt that requires an allen wrench to remove it, down in the well of the spline. Do you remove this hub to access the seal? Your help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks Dobbs

not all pumps are the same the one i just did had three bolts holding a plate on the input end the seal was in that plate and you could not see it from the out side
