I was wondering what a MF 1100 Diesel in decent condition is worth and if there were any problems with these tractors you should look for before buying one. Also did they have a differential lock and what other features were advaiable. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Just remember you have only enough hydraulic accumulator for one stop/brake pedal application. Then no brakes if it stalls. DO NOT get caught in neutral trying a restart on a hill after stalling out. YOU WILL HAVE NO BRAKES. Neighbor rode one out backwards with 12t of corn silage in a tandem chipper box. Stalled at the top of a hill in low multi. Crashed in the ditch at the bottom of the hill.

Will do anything a 4020 will do, only better. Like any other 30+ year old tractor, it will be as good as the care it has recieved.

Check parking brake to see if it works. Check hyd lift for operation. Engage PTO coupler and then hyd lever on dash to look and listen to PTO.
Make sure that trans shift linkage works in all gears for high and low. Sometimes the high/low shift rail and detent pin gets wear and trans will come out of low gear. Some of these have diff lock. Some have the MF multi power shift. IF so try it out. Check brakes for operation. Look under front of tractor at the pivot bearing to see if bushing is good. You might check Big Dean's site at [email protected] for more tips. Charlie/San Antonio

I've seen them advertised between $2,500 & $6,000 in the S/E. We gave $5,000 for one 5 years ago, wish we had a couple more... 94 hp, closed center hydraulics, an all around good tractor.
