How can I avoid future problems with multipower,as it seems to be the weak link in an otherwise highly reliable tractor;MF185 is used full time for hedgecutting, should I leave it in low occasionally using high to pump the oil round?
Many thanks

I have a 175 that is a 1975 model and the MP is as good as it was new and has never been worked on...we just keep the fluids fresh...tractor ain't pretty anymore, but mechanically it is still top notch...don't know what to tell you...maybe it was just a bad unit to begin with.

I have a 1966 MF 180 and it has never been touched, put in a new hyd. pump once, but MP is still going strong.

As I understand it, always operate in Hi MP. Oil circulates in hi. When I get in a bind I downshift to LO MP and as soon as I get thru the tough spot I shift back up to HI MP. I have a 75 model 255 and have not had any repairs to the MP yet.

I also have a MF180 with over 8000 hrs. and the multipower works good, I've never had any trouble with it. According to my manual you can run in low or high as needed. I'm always shifting mine, use it as any other gear. Just remember ir must be in high for engine braking when going down hill.
