when i took the motor apart i failed to note which way the connecting rods were attached to the crank. the rod caps are not 90 degrees to the bore. the big end of the connecting rod is made with rod cap at an angle. does the matter which way the angle goes? this is somewhat hard to explain with out the parts in front of you

The cylinder # (1-2-3-4)on the rod and cap go together and should be installed towards the camshaft side of the engine.
