I recently bought a 1953 massey harrys 33 and it has a hole in the top of the grill that does not lead to anything, the rad sticks threw the hood and it just has this hole infront of it that is just there. Is this posibly not the correct grill for a 33

That will be it! the tractor has no hydraulics. thanks for the info. (I must say the hole looks odd and just not right, with it leading to nothing.)

How big is the hole? Does your tractor have factory hydraulics? It might be the location for the fill neck on the hydraulic tank in front of the rad. Some other Masseys had the fill neck and cap there.

A long time ago, we had a gas & a diesel 33.
Both had hydralics . Seems to me that the gas
had the fill neck for the reservoir and a dip
stick coming above the grill, but the diesel had
a lower reservoir and there was a sheet metal
dust cap on the grill that you had to pry off
with a screwdriver to check the hydralic oil.
My memory ain't what it used to be-that was 30
years ago, and it weren't real good then.

Nope- Just went to dig up the old pictures
outa the attic.(ex) pappy-in-law still has the
gas and I traded the diesel on the Super 88.
Both 33's- 333's had the fancy sheet metal at
your knees-cylinder pinched you and hit the
seat everytime you raised and lowered the plow
on ours. That cover was like an flywheel inspection hole cover.
btw-did you get my e-mail?
