MH 22 value?

I am not familiar with Massey Harris, but I ran across a 22 for sale and was wondering what it might be worth. The engine was free, but appears to be stuck now. Tires and rims are good, sheetmetal appears to be mostly there. It comes with a semi-mounted rear MH sickle mower. Are there any problem areas with this tractor? Are engine kits available? Wet sleeves? Any hard to find parts?

Thanks!

My son and I overhauled a MH 22 and had little trouble getting parts. Your local NAPA can get a lot of Continental engine parts. I also have a 22 for sale that I am not going to restore. It's in restorable condition or could be used as a parts tractor.

Bought a 22 RC about 2 years ago for $1300. Was a trade-in at a dealer. Runs excellent, but leaks like a sieve all over. Had to replace nearly the entire wiring harness. Very good sheetmetal, poor paint. Had new front tires. Rear tires had good tread but in poor condition. Has 3-pt. hitch with strong hydraulics. Handles a 7-ft 501 sickle very well. Will not part with it. Have seen 22's in running condition priced from $900 on up to about $2500 in perfect restored condition. Guess the answer is, "It depends..."

THANKS!
