I have used 3 different 44 MH's and a 444. None of them had a factory parking brake lock. Did they not have one or were they faulty or what? Am just getting started on a '51 44MH and would like to reproduce or purchase the factory lock if possible. Thank you. Fred

I have three MH44's and a MH55 and they all have a locking system for the brake pedals. The ones you run must of had them removed.

Fred,
I have a 1953 MH 33 and it has an original factory installed mechanical parking brake. I had to come up with a replacement return spring to make it work so maybe when the spring broke guys used to just remove the lock. I used a park pawl return spring out of a late model GM (4t40E) front wheel drive transmission.

I have a 1950 44. The brakes can be locked by a mechanism that is engaged by your heel as you press the brake pedals. This apparatus appears to be factory, but I am not sure.
