I use a 1964 MF-35 Deluxe, a township tractor for cleaning the lot and rinks at the outdoor rinks that I make and look after. Just took it upon myself to put new plugs and point's etc on the tractor. For some reason, after running for a few minutes, the plastic on the points melt where they ride on the rotor shaft. I am assuming that it is either the voltage regulator that is gone although it was new 1-1/2 years ago, or is there another reason. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have had one of these tractors for several years & farmed with them in the 60s There is a capsool that comes with most points with grease in it,put the grease on the back side of breaker of points, rub a thin coat on breaker shaft this will cut down the friction that is causing the plastic to melt, if it was not supplied then a small amount from your grease gun will work fine. hope this helps.
