Greetings;
I have a strange one for you guys with the know how I have a Massey 135 Diesel, and yesterday while using it, oil started oozing out of the area around where the steering column comes through the dashboard, any ideas as to what is happening here? Maybe a seal or something? If you know. what is the repair procedure?
Thanks friends.
Jim

Jim, I just finished putting seals in my 135 for the same reason. It really is not that bad of a job, just take your time. You need to first remove the steering wheel, then remove dash assembly, marking the wires that you disconect. You can then remove the upper steering tower,you will find a seal pressed into the housing, pry it out and install new one, you can find them at your local industrial supply co.I have done these on 3 different Massey's I've owned, must be a weak spot. Goodluck

Shaque,
I am going to follow this closely. I have a MF 245 doing exactly the same thing. I took off the steering column cover and tightened the 13/16 nut which holds the upper hydrostatic steering pump cover in place. This did not do the job. Looks like I have to remove the Upper cover and replace the shaft seal with a kit. There are two kits available depending on the serial number of your tractor. Diesel - 9A 247 444 is the dividing line between which kit you order (On the 245 anyways.)This shaft seal kit has 4 parts to it. I need to find out as much as you do. I need some of the experts out there to tell me if I am going in the right direction?
