MF135 that will not keep running!

I have an MF 135 that I have been trying to restore. I had the engine overhauled and it ran fine, I had it running for about 45min to worm it up so I could tighten the head down.
I left the tractor for a few weeks, and now it will only run for a minute or so! Someone said that it may be because of air in the fuel system, and someone else said that it may be the lift pump failing. I did not replace the fuel filters because they were 1/2 year old and it doesn't get used a lot.
Hope this info helps,
Thanks for any reply, greatly appreciated.

Also check for blockages - the conical mesh filter in the fuel tank above the fuel tap - you may need to remove the tap. - and the mesh filter above the lift pump bowl - its hard to see but it should be there. I have a diesel and its tank was burnt in a fire. I needed to clean these filters several times before it was OK. apart from that listen to Big Dean.

Jack it could very well be the lift pump but I would change the fuel filters first it only takes a little water in those filters to stop the fuel from flowing through them.

Thanks for the quick response, I will get to it at the weekend when i'm free from college!
Another thing, I take it that all of the body of the tractor should be greay, and the muguards and bonnet is red?
Thanks alot, I think this site works great!
