I'm rebuilding a Massey Harris super 101 with 231B chrysler flathead 6cyl. engine in it. the head measures 7" wide and 23" long. But it has a cracked block, and am having trouble finding specs on the chrysler engine and which car or truck engines would match the 231B engine and where can I find rear seals for the motors as well. Also would be interested in good tech books or manuals for the chrysler engine too. The year my tractor is 1942 Thanks

Remember Chrysler had Industrial and Marine divisions as well. Check with companies in your area that deal with boats or stationary power plants as well. That will open your search up beyond obsolete automobiles. I have been wondering for about 2 years about the interchangability between Chrysler and Continental engines. I know Massey used both in different models and in all types of equip, as well as Buda engines in everything from tractors to combines, and I wonder about the similarity of the bell housing bolt patterns. Mystery?
