I am trying to get the head off my perkins in a MF35. One bolt seems to be frozen in the head. The head moves around all of the other bolts but this one in the rear. I have been keeping penetrating oil around it for a couple of weeks and it still is frozen. I have pressure on it from above but I am affraid to pull to hard in fear of braking the head. I have tried punding on the nut with a hammer and still no movement. Any good ideas?

I agree with david's post. I broke a head bolt one time when I was taking the head off and luckly there was enough stud sticking out that I could grab it with vice grips add some heat and PB blaster and it came out fairly well. You got to have a little heat! You will be surprised how much it helps. Good luck!

If its a stud or bolt, try hitting it HARD with a hammer and then see if it will come off. If bad goes to worse, cut the head off the bolt or the nut off the stud. You can always remove the bolt or stud after you get the head off. Heat the bolt or stud at the bottom or the bolt and after it cools, try loosing it with a pair of vice-grips or a "monkeywrench".Bolts are cheap when compaired to a head.Good luck, David
