I AM WRITING FOR A FRIEND WHO HAS A MH,HE WAS TOLD IT WAS A 1951 44. THE TRACTOR HAS A LEVER ON RIGHT SIDE, POSSIBLY HAND CLUTCH? THE SERIAL # IS 44GIRF 28685 NOT FOR SURE IF THE FOURTH LETTER IN THE FIRST GROUP IS L,I,OR THE NUMBER 1 DUE TO BIG SCRATCH. WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THE PURCHASE OF THE CORRECT OPERATORS MANUAL FOR THIS TRACTOR. THIS IS THE FIRST MASSEY HARRIS I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO WORK ON. ANY HELP WILL BE MORE THAN APPRECIATED. THANK YOU SREPHEN WEBER

Serial # 21,815 to 31,189 should be 1951. The fouth letter is a #1 which designates it as regular altitude The G is for "gas", 1 is for reg altitude, R is for "row crop" and the F is for "foot clutch". I think you will find these tractors are easy to work on and wish you lots of luck and enjoy your tractor.
