We have A massey harris 33 rowcrop. The tractor seems to have quite a bit of power. It seems like there is much less info. on the 33 than the 44. Why is this? The only difference i can find is that the 44 has a bit more power. Would An M farmall be a good comparison to the 33, or what will pull more? An M is a 3 plow tractor but i've seen the 33 rated as a 3 plow to? Any info on the 33 would be greatly appreciated..

I always considered an "M" and a 44 were pretty equal on horses and work. The 33 is a good tractor just a few cubic inches shorter and 5-6 horses less than a 44 and maybe 10 horses less than a 44 special which produced about the same years.

Belt Horsepower: 35
Bore and stroke: 3.625 X 4.875
Compression Ratio: 6.3 to 1
Cubic Inch: 201

I have a book on the 33 with alot more info. Not 100% sure on the horse power rating. Seems like it should be less.
The Farmall M has 248 cubic inch with a bore and stroke of 3.875 X 5.25 and a belt horse power of 36.
My neighbor has a Massy 30 and I have a Farmall M. When working together I would prefer the M,and Im not saying that just because it is mine. They are both good tractors though.
If you would like more info just let me know. Hope this helps!

We had a M and a 44 in sandy loam soil conditons. The M was a good 3 plow tractor, and the 44 was a good 4 plow tractor.
