In early December I purchased a MF135 diesel, I need to put a new muffler on it. I've noticed the costs of parts are significantly cheaper at the local TSC vs. the local MF dealership, but I'm concerned about quality. Any comments or experience with the mufflers available thru TSC? I just paid the local MF dealership $15 for a gasket (to seal the air cleaner assy.), this was the most expensive gasket I've ever bought. The MF dealer wants $72 for an L bracket that bolts to the tractor body and the rear of the left footrest/running board, I know I can find someone to weld my broke bracket for much less than that. Thanks for any input.

Hi Will -

We've been using aftermarket parts for over 25 years now, with excellent results. (I used MF for the first two years, and paid the price, because there was no Yesterday's Tractors network to lean on!) MF is typically 50 to 200% higher in cost than aftermarket, with a very few - and surprising - exceptions, such as the heritage sleeve kit for the Standard 23 C.

I haven't used TSC specifically, but I suspect that most aftermarket parts come from similar, and good quality, sources.

Go for it! It will probably do you out (unless you try making love to a tree or stump!).
