I wish to fit an alternator to a 165 instead of the dynamo generator . what wiring changes are required ? is a special alternator required?

If you have a gas engine to have a Tach drive you will need an alternator from a late 100 series Gas tractor. These alternators used an external voltage regulator. If the Tach drive is not an issue or you have a diesel I always used a Delco alternator with a built in regulator like the ones used on the GM cars & trucks in the 1970s & 80s or one from the MF200 series tractors. If I can be of further help on this Email me.
