I have a problem with the trans. on the Pony I just got serial #PGS 3858. Sometimes when you change gears it seems to get hung up and won't come out or go into any gear. I talked to the old man I got it from and he came over and showed me how to get it un stuck. He removed the pin that holds the shifter in place and fished around up and down until he lined the gears back up. All the gears seem to run fine and there is no noise. He says its been like that for many years. I have to get this fixed, its very annoying. He and I have no idea what to do. I've never been into one of these transmissions before. Is this something simple to fix?

Thanks for your help.
Mike

Its been a while since I had mine apart. I would take off the round cover plate on the side of the tranny. Maybe you can see something that is wrong with the shifter forks? Might be worn out or bent? Also look at the tip of the shifter where it moves the shifter forks. There might be too much play in there. This is just a thought. Never heard of this type of problem before. Let me know what you find out.
