Mounting a Separate Engine on a used 3Point snowblower

As I move the little snow we have had so far - New Brunswick, Canada - I wonder about the feasability of adapting a snowblower - probably 6 foor - on My MH23 Mustang. Now the MH doesn't have the two stage clutch so I can't operate it as one should, and likely there may not be enough horsepower to do it either.

I was wondering though if I was able to find a cheap, used conventional 3 point hitch snowblower, and mount a separate engine on the snowblower, could it be powered by a reasonable B&S or Tecumseh motor? I should be able to figure the gearing ratios to produce the necessary rotation speed on the augers. I would think that since we are only driving the augers, that a reasonable horsepower might do - something like 16hp? (My little MTD garden tractor uses a 45" blower and has 18hp twin B&S to both drive it and the blower, but it lacks the clearance that the MH would have.) (Sticking three standard 8hp blowers together also went through my head, but I think the standard 6 foot idea sounds better.)

As well, for starting and stopping the blower, I was wondering about either a clutch system - something like the slip clutch on snowmobiles, or an electric clutch - though I am 6 volt on the MH.

Can any of you folks with much more vast experience that I pass comment on this thought? I find pushing snow around the yard is much more time consuming than blowing it. The scraper blade sure works well though in getting down to our concrete driveway...

Appreciate.
