Hoping someone may give me some general info on this model. I purchased one in good shape, needs no paint or sheetmetal work for $1,500, just had to replace crankshaft. With work put in to get it going total cost about $2,200. What does this usually fetch? I don't know HP, but guess around 35 or so, and what kind of lift capicity does it have? I need it to pull a HD 6-7ft box blade and scraper to maintain about 2miles of gravel roads...

I just bought a MF50 gas with power steering for $3000 with a brushhog-my first tractor. Looks good, needed a valve job but otherwise in good shape. I've mowed once and moved 1100 lb roundbales with it with no problem. Looked at four others around here. One with a total rebuild, paint and decals for $5200. One with an engine and hydraulic rebuild, ugly paint for $5200. Another that made a lot of bad engine noises and looked even worse for $2800. Another with a good motor, ugly and had a bad power steering cylinder (a $1200 part) and they were asking $3200 for it. I know the ugly paint, $5200 tractor is still for sale after eight months. You can see mine in the picture gallery. It's the 1961 MF50.

I bought a MF50 diesel for $3K with rotary brush cutter. In my neck of the woods, I think one would not bring much more than $4K. The Perkins 3 cyl diesel is about 38hp and the gas is 32hp, both pto hp's. I should think it would handle your box blade.
