Is there a soap mix that one can paint on the tire portion to keep the over the over spray from sticking on the tire? Then just wash it off when the paint drys. Thanks for any help.t

Vasoline work well, and it make the tire shiney!

With my classic I took the time to mask with masking tape but usually I just use petroleum jelly. Just spread it liberally on the rubber up to the rim then after you paint, it will wash off easily.

I painted rims on a Farmall A and rubbed the tires down with used motor oil. First few mowings or runs through high grass and the overspray came right off, no wiping.

Tom,
I was on the understanding that oil and grease dramatically shorten tire life.

I usually just run a strip of duct tape around the tire and wheel then cut around the wheel to separate it. Then tape newspaper or whatever to the duct tape. it works better for me than masking tape. The masking tape just don't seem to have the grip. I had never thought about using something like soap on a tire before and to be honest thats the first I had ever heard of it. I know quite a bit but I am still learning. This is a great place to increase you knowledge.

Hey, Country,
I'm redoing my dad's 135.
Any tips for painting?
Is an operator's manual worth the money?
Anyone else have some tips?
Thanks,
Harry
