What reputation does the 1150 Massey Ferguson have?
Good points / bad points?
Anything to be concerned about engine? transmission?
How would one handle a loader?
Appreciate your comments.

You had better price a rebuild kit for that 510 V8. Then price one for any 354 Perkins. V8's are very expensive to fix, compared to 6 cyl engines. I know because I own an 1100, 1130 and 1150 plus two 3000 series. I would choose a Massey 246 loader if I was to put one on an 1150.

The 1150 is a good solid machine. We have one still going strong. Good hyd. I think it would make a good loader tractor if you wanted to put a loader on it.

The 1150 is rates at 135PTO HP. The 510 V8 is a nice smooth running engine. Lots of power. Naturally asperated but I have seen some with M&W turbo kits. I have one right now that I am restoring . Had another one before that I really liked a lot. No cab on either one.

Don't know much about the 1150 but the 1130 makes an awesome loader tractor, Everythings the same except the motor is bigger.

What kind of loader do you use on it?
Approx how many horsepower are we talking about?
Can you still find new / used loaders that fit well?

My brother has a Westendorf WL-40 on his 1130, it is rated at around 120hp. A Westendorf WL-40 and WL-42 are both the same with the 42 having a Quick attach bucket. Both should fit on your 1150. The Massey 1100/1105, 1130/1135, and 1150/1155 all use the same components from the clutch back with only the engines and sheetmetal being different. If the 1150 you are looking at has high hours I would look it over real carefull. One good test is to work the tractor for a couple of hours shut it off and pull the hyd oil dipstick,if the oil on the dipstick glitters in sunlight the rearend needs attention. I had a 1155 and it was a good tractor but the 1130 would always be right behind the 1155 pulling the same load and using a gallon of fuel an hour less. If you have any more questions feel free to email me.
