MH serial number

I recently bought a MH 44 but the serial number plate/tag was not attached. Is there anywhere else on the tractor where I can find the serial number to find out the true model number and age of this tractor?

Look on the left side by the PTO lever as it is stamped on the trans cover. For a general referance (year of tractor) look on the underside of the frame at the back for the date frame was cast. The problem of no tag is coomon because of the location being below the battery and acid leaking down onto the tag.
