Does anyone know...is there a filter on the MF50 hydraulics? The local MF dealer says there's a screen and it's pretty hard to get to. I've seen parts places listing filters for the 50. My IT manual and the owner's manual make no mention of either a screen or a filter. I'm confused. Is the screen the filter? Does it need to be changed or cleaned? Where is it? Mine's working OK lifting 1100 lb bales but shakes a little sometimes with no weight. I'm new at this. My first tractor and just bought it. Thanks

The early MF50 did not have the hydraulic filter in them the later ones did. I don't remember exactly when they start putting it on them. It is inside behind the access plate with the PTO shift lever in it if you have one. It is a screen that can usually be washed out. If I can be of further help send me an email

There is a filter in your tractor for the hydraulics - it is a screen tube. Get yourself some MF parts, service and owners manuals and you will have the info necessary to service this thing. I have a MF50 and plan on changing out mine (though you can clean it) soon.

Also, see Big Dean's web site regarding this too.
