I posted this question a few weeks ago but couldnt get the right feed back, thing is I have a MF 1155 that has been sitting parked for five years and in that time the batteries were taken out so I need to get some new batteries and I did and when I hooked them up I got no response, just as dead as ever now can someone explain to me the correct procedure to hooking up batteries on one of these V8, and why aint I getting no juice, is there a burnt fuse? Whats going on with this ole tractor, if someone has a 1155 please e-mail your address so I can use your advice from time to time, Im in Arkansas and this is not Massey land.

I have a MF1100 series and it has a netural safety switch in bottom of steering pestal. The purpose of the switch is to prevent starting unless tractor is in neutral. Iam sure your 1155 had a saftey switch. A guy down the road about 2 miles has a 1155 and I know where there is a parts tractor about 30 miles from me. If you hear of any MF1100s for parts let me know. Charlie/San Antonio TX

MY FARM IS IN KANSAS WHERE I HAVE TWO 1155'S AND MANY OTHER MF WITH PERKINS V8'S. THE SAFETY SWITCH IS THE BEST IDEA TO START WITH. THERE IS A FUSEABLE LINK IN THE SYSTEM, BUT I DONT KNOW OF ONE EVER BEING REPLACED. THE STARTER SOLONOID'S CAN BE TEMPERMENTAL. QUICK AND EASY TEST. BE SURE! BE DAMN SURE THE TRACTOR IS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL BEFORE TESTING. TAKE A SCREW DRIVER AND CROSS THE LITTLE POST ON THE SOLONOID TO THE BIG POST WITH THE BIG HOT WIRE COING TO IT. IT SHOULD CRANK. IF NOT DO THAT AGAIN WHILE CROSSING THE TWO BIG POSTS WITH ANOTHER SCREW DRIVER. THIS TEST COMPLETELY ELLIMINATES THE SOLONOID. IF IT CRANKS THE SOLONOID IS BAD. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND. I GREW UP IN MASSEY LAND.HAVE BEEN IN THE JD BUSINESS FOR 15 YEARS, BUT STILL LIKE TO LET THE MASSEY'S PUNISH ME. LUKE
