Have a 135 Deluxe with continental z145 engine. it has a tachometer/ pto speed guage. I have a new cable but can not find where it goes on engine. It does not hook lup the the back of the motor and does not hook up to the generator although the cable is long enough. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Apparently it went on the back of the generator. Unfortunately this generator must have been replaced and the shaft is not tapped for the gear that drives the gear assembly. I don't have the gear assembly either. Anyone know where I can get a generator shaft or generator that is taped or a gear assembly.

welcome to the common problem. it came with a generator had tach drive on back of it. most have been changed to alt, thus loosing the drive. later model 235,s with alt had a drive on the dist. good luck.

Mine still has the generator. I am going to the MF dealer today to see if they have any ideas.

Thanks for all the information.

My book shows it going into the left side of the block between the starter and distributor.
