I've been on the lookout for a good loader tractor for not much money for my sister and her husband. There is a MF 202 in the local paper with p/s loader, pto, etc. I'm not familiar with this model at all. I just looked at some 202's in the photo section of this site and I'm seeing some very different looking tractors. One looks like an old TO-35 and another one looks more modern, etc. Any help or advice would be nice. What to look for, what to watch out for, etc. This has a gas engine and claims about 40 hp. If we go look at it I'll post pictures. It's about 100 miles away.

I have a 202. There was an early and late style. This is an industrial tractor but most of the parts are the same as other mf tractors. Mine has a continental z-134 engine which is also vey common. My Power stearing leaks at the cylinders, which is common, but those cyl. are very expensive to replace. I just add fluid when it gets hard to stear. The loader whith the front pump has lots and lots of power and also works fast. This has been a very nice loader tractor because it is small and has good power. The only thing I dislike is the clutch. For me pushing straight down on a clutch is not comfortable when doing loader work. Good luck and tell us how it looks/runs.
