I would like information on how to change the gen to a alt on a 135 massy diesel and what kind will work and will the same brackets work and what will i need to rewire any help will be appreicated

I converted mine last year. I like the single wire GM Delco type alternators. They are widely available at Kragen Auto Parts or Checkers Auto Parts or any good generator shop. You can use a later model bracket slightly modified but I made mine. The trick is getting the alternator high enough to clear the steering rod/arm. The alternator mounts with the main mount toward the top of the engine clearing the sheetmetal by about 1" or so. The single 10 gauge wire goes directly to the battery connection on the starter solenoid which is only about 12" away. You can completely do away with the voltage regulator and associated wiring which cleans things up a bit. The only down side is that the alternator stands out farther from the tractor than the original generator but this is the way it is on the original Massey installation. Hope this helps.
