Mine does it all the time. Usually comes from trying to slam it in gear before you have come to a complete stop, or trying to stick it in the wrong place. Usually gets the gear shifter between gears.

There is a hex-head filler cap just beside the bottom of the shifter that provides access to the transmission. Usually you can see the shift collar just inside the trans case. With mine, a big screwdriver or a small pry bar will unlock it pretty easily just by sliding the collar towards the front of the tractor.

Hope this helps.

GO TO BIG DEANS WEB SITE AND DOWNLOAD THE INSTRUCTIONS THERE ON HOW TO UNSTICK YOUR TRANNY. I JUST HAD TO DO MINE AGAIN LAST WEEK. IT'S REAL SIMPLE TO DO, TAKES ABOUT FIVE MINUTES.
