I have given up trying to find a tach for my super dexta. It has the same 152" Perkins as a MF35. What i am wondering is if the MF35 tachometer drive is on the back end of the injection pump, like my Fordson. I have the body and face for the fordson tach and hope to use a readily available MF35 repop tach for the guts.Hope you guys can help me out Thanks, Kev

Hi Kevin,

I recently bougth a 1959 FE-35 with the standard 23c diesel engine and I think that the tractormeter cable attach to the front of the fuel pump. Not really sure since there is no tach at all on this babe, but there is a place to fit a cable at this place...

Hope this help.

I look for a tractormeter and cable if someone have one!

Hi Kevin.
The tach drive is on the back of the block not on pump like your Fordson. I am in the process of rebuilding a 62 Massey 35.
Could you help me?
You mentioned that you can get a "a readily available MF35 repop tach"
I have been searching and have not been able to locate one. Any suggetions or web address for Massey reproduction equipment would be wonderful.

Good luck with you tach search.

Brian is correct. I just finished rebuilding the engine in my MF 35 Perkins 3 cyl diesel. The tacometer is driven by the back end of the cam shaft. The cable conects directly to the block where the oil seal etc. is for the rear of the cam shaft. The cable on mine is broken...I need to replace the cable.

On my 35 perkins the tach drive is on the block I assume this is running from the cam.

Thanks for the info. You're right, I looked at one at the boneyard it runs off the cam which is good. Same direction and speed as the pump. Thanks, Kev
