I have an old diesel Massey 35 that came with a land purchase and would like to know what type of transmission oil to use. I live in Texas. Thanks

Doug, Use 80 - 90 Mineral oil or spec'd as GL1
The Massey dealer has it as M1103. The reason the older models use mineral oil is because the seals are not resistant to the detergents in the newer oils like GL5. Unless you had the tranny completely rebuilt recently which would have the correct seals for the newer oils stick with the manufacturer's recommendation and use Mineral oil.

Good Luck

We have some mf 35 tractors and the oil we use is the Kendall hypoit 80-w90. We have never had a problem with it .It's the oil recommended by Kendall. By the way, I life in the Netherlands.
