Especially when it's cold, there's fuel leaking from between the injector pump body and the top cover. Obviously the reason seems to be the gasket between the two parts. Is it a pain to change the gasket, or should i take it to a diesel shop? If i go to change it by myself, is there anything i should be aware of? (i.e any springs that will fly off when i take the cover off) Is there anything else i should do while the pump cover is off?

I had the same problem with my 1970 MF135. It was not a big problem to repair. When you remove the cover, the 2 valves will come out with the cover. There is a spring connecting to a piece in the injector pump. It has 3 holes. Pull the cover off slow and make a note which holes on each end the spring fits into, and make sure when you put it back togather the spring is in the same holes. I also pulled the valves out and replaced the O ring. (mine was leaking out the valves as well. Most of the repair time was cleaning the old gasket off. Whole job was less than an hour and cost was maybe 3 dollars for gasket material and O ring. Big Dean sent me an email with an details parts break down. I printed it, but don't have it in an email or I'd send it to you. You might email Big dean and see if he would forward it to you..... .Bill in TN
