I am looking to buy a nice 1970 gas 135
I was surprised to see that the PTO control
is hydraulic activated instead of current
two stage clutch. It seems working correctly
but would like to know if somebody had experience
with that type of PTO control.

Thanks !

I have a 1970 MF 135 turf model. The hydraulics are tired It has been on the Pacific Ocean coast, so there's rust. Willing to sell for $1,000 or offer.

The Independent PTO is an option on the MF135 it is found more on the tractors from the MF165 & up but there are a few MF150s & MF135s that have it as you all ready know. They have a separate pump that sets piggyback on top of the three point pump. The one thing on them is idle the engine all the way down before you disengage the PTO. To prevent the brake from wearing out prematurely on it. The Brake was never meant to stop the Implement but to hold the shaft from turning while you hook the implement shaft to the tractor PTO. If I can be of more assistance on this Email me

This type of PTO is called Independant PTO. This is a nice option. Big Dean is the guy you want to talk to. Have you visited his website? Does the tractor have Power Steering? Might I inquire as to the asking price?
Thanks Gary

Many thanks to him to share all these years of
experience with us..BTW I'm going to order his CD.

No power steering

Price $4000 Can / I'm not currency expert I guess aprox $2400 U.S.

There is a kind of adjutment lever at place of
right inspection plate..with the oil level
dipstick in the center opposite side
of PTO control lever..realy do'nt know its purpose
The seller does'nt have operator's manual and
is not himself familar with tractors.

Thanks !

Hey Joe,
I've got a 70 model 135 gas myself. Great haybine and raking tractor. The lever on the right hand side next to the hyd. dipstick should be the response lever for the speed of your hitch if I'm thinking of the same one. It shold say response, fast and slow on it.

Hi Joe
Sitting on machine the PTO engagement lever is on the left Its should look like most othe MF 35 & MF 135 PTO levers. The one I looked at had the dipstick on the right side The only other lever I know of on the right side is for the diff. lock.I think you swing the pedal across and push down with your foot. Do this with both wheels stopped. Which gas engine does it have? This may make a difference.
