I own a 1962 M/F 50 with a Perkins Diesel. Neither the fuel guage nor the amp guage works. I have replaced the sender on the fuel tank with no luck. I have not touched the amp guage yet because the area is so restricted where the guage is located. Is there a easier way to work on the instruments in the dash and what may be wrong with the fuel guage? I'm about as electrically pronounced as someone asking me to do brain surgery. Thanks in advance.

I pull out the tach. to work on the wiring. I have a MF 205 Ind. See if the fuel guage has 12V, with the engine running. If not check the oil pressure switch, this controls the power to your guages alt Etc. If you have power to the guage, ground the sender, the guage should go to full, if not the guage is probably stuck, while the sender is grounded smack the guage, this almost always works,if not replace the guage.
