I am in the process of replacing the PTO seal, and the transhydro fluid on my MF65 gas (1961). While I have it drained, I wanted to replace a couple of leaky gaskets under covers on the differential housing, but am worried about pulling off the covers and having something fall into the housing behind it. Can anyone tell me what the Pump support pin does? There is one on each side, held on by two nuts each. The gaskets under both of these are leaking badly. Also, can I pull the oil indicator level cover and PTO shift cover off without having to reassemble things inside before replacing it. I have the parts manual, but it doesn't really help on this. Finally, do the hydraulic pumps on these ever come with a filter (the parts manual suggests either a strainer or nothing at all). If so, how do you get at the filter and/or strainer to clean it out?. Thanks in advance. Pat

The strainer/filter (if it has either) is found behind the pto selector cover. Drain oil, pull cover, reach in and down and if it is there it will have a wing nut on top. Anything you drop you can reach, just make sure the shift fork on the pto selector is in the groove of the gear! It's a fairly easy job!
