I recently purchased this tractor and last night I got on it and it started right up. With a 8ft backblade I was able to Pop up a couple small tree stumps. Happy with how that worked I attempted a larger stump, but it wouldn't budge and the tractor began to run rough. Thinking maybe it was sedement in the gas, I cleaned the bowl, fuel line, and sprayed some carb cleaner in the carb and added 5 gallons fresh gas, No luck.
I did notice a new oil leak at the front of exhaust manifold. And now it won't start.Stuck valve?blown gasket?? Any ideas??? Thank You Mark

Worked on it some more, charged the battery and cleaned the plugs (Wet and black), adjusted carb, checked/cleaned the points and wires. Started up OK but after about a minute it would sputter, shake, and backfired. Maybe electrical? going to change cap and rotor? Mark MH (44GR 15540)
