Marta,
the horsepower figures you quote for both these tractors is far to high. The Fordson Major that you have would only be 35 to 40 horsepower and the Ferguson 20 horsepower.

You could try and put a Perkins in the Fordson. The Fordson E27N had an optional diesel engine, the Perkins P6. You may be able to find one second hand or find a compatible newer engine.

Could your horsepower numbers be, instead, Kilowatts? I work with European machinery at my day job and all the European electric motor data plates are in KW.

Good luck with your tractors.

The kilowatt was not used by the English when these tractors were manufactured. The kilowatt is also equal to 1.34 horsepower therefore making the Fordson have 80 hour power, which I am pretty sure is impossible.

Fordson is now part of New Holland/Case/International/Fiat- Agri
Ferguson (Massey-Ferguson) is now part of the AGCO corporation . Tafe in India makes Massey tractors under licence from Agco . Close to home - start there . The old TED Ferguson used a Standard diesel , not available except as used , but some Perkins were used in a few models.
